The upwelling of wastewater from sewers in a building that is generally caused by the saturation of the municipal system pipes. It occurs when the amount of water to be discharged exceeds the system's ability to capture it.
27 janvier 2023 - Le journaliste et animateur Patrick Lagacé s’est entretenu dans le cadre de son émission Le Québec maintenant (au 98,5 FM) avec monsieur Daniel Vaudrin, président du Syndicat de la copropriété Square Cartier Phase 1 au sujet de refoulements d’égouts répétitifs. Cette copropriété, située au 1451 rue Parthenais à Montréal, a subi six refoulements d’égouts (deux en septembre 2022), ce qui a eu pour résultat d’inonder de nombreux appartements situés en demi-sous-sol. L’immeuble en cause, composé d’environ 160 unités, fut construit en 2006-2007, dans le cadre Programme Accès Condos de la Société d’habitation et de développement de Montréal (SHDM). Rappelons que cet organisme se trouve à être une société paramunicipale de la Ville de Montréal.
