When you own an apartment in a co-ownership, you share the common portions, such as the roof, the lobby and the elevators in undivided ownership with the other owners. By the same token, you also share a portion of the liabilities attached to them.
The syndicate must subscribe insurance (for the immovable) covering the common and private portions. For the private portions, the obligation of the syndicate is limited to the coverage of any damage affecting their original condition.
As a co-owner, it is in your best interest to subscribe various insurances they will cover more particularly your property and will supplement the insurance coverage of your syndicate.
